This is Michael Turner's last volume to deal with the voyages side of Drake's life. The book interweaves Michael's adventurous travels in his quest to capture on film every Drake location across the globe. It narrates the Drake activities and geography from Europe to the Caribbean Sea. Like its predecessors Volume 3 is well written and very interesting. The book is the usual engaging mixture of history, geography, fieldwork and archival research. The pages are superbly illustrated with over ninety of Michael's own photographs. An extra dimension and further clarification are added by the use of John Thrower's scholarly maps. The Broadside readers will greatly appreciate and enjoy this latest offering from the editor and founder of the society.
